Skills in Stray Blade are special abilities of the player character that can be unlocked to grant them many different advantages in and out of combat. Skills are comprised of active abilities that can be used in combat for varying effects such as special attacks that deal large amounts of damage or healing powers, and passive skills that grant bonuses to certain stats, permanent or conditional benefits and more. Skills are heavily tied to Weapon Mastery as many nodes of the Skill Tree are unlocked by mastering a particular weapon. This page covers all Skills available in Stray Blade, their effects, how to unlock them, tips on usage and other relevant information.

Stray Blade Skills Overview

The bulk of your Character Progression in Stray Blade is tied to your Skill Tree. The Skill Tree is a massive grid full of nodes that need to be unlocked in order to gain their benefits. These nodes are comprised of both Active and Passive skills.

Active Skills can be used in combat to varying effects such as dealing heavy damage, stunning or inflicting other crowd control effects, healing, buffing and more. Passive Skills grant bonuses permanently or conditionally such as movement speed boosts, increased chance to deal critical damage or health regeneration when landing attacks.

It can be assumed that you are granted Skill Points of some sort for every level up to invest into your Skill Tree to unlock nodes.

Weapon Mastery

Each and every weapon you find will have its own Mastery level. This is essentially weapon experience earned by continued use of the weapon.

As you progress a weapon's Mastery gauge, you will reach milestones at certain percentages that will unlock nodes on your Skill Tree related to that particular weapon. These Skill unlocks include Special Attacks and Finishers unique to each weapon.
